Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Your call will be answered by a fully trained medical receptionist who has capacity to signpost to relevant clinicians dependent on your need.

Once your call has been assessed by the receptionist, it will then be filtered to the relevant member of our clinical team.

The Clinician will then contact you via telephone to discuss your medical issue, they will then arrange follow up care for you appropriately either face to face or over the telephone.

Late for your appointment

Please attend your appointment on time, if you are late you may not be seen. If you are not seen you will not be able to rearrange your appointment until the next working day-except in the event of a medical emergency that requires immediate attention.

We try our best to run to time, and to see people within a few minutes of their booked appointment. However, even with the best intentions this is not always possible, especially when there has been an unexpected emergency. You will also appreciate that it is not always possible to predict how long each consultation will take. If your Doctor is running late the receptionist will inform you of this when you arrive.

If you have more than one ailment or issue to discuss at your appointment, please tell us and arrange for a double appointment.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Home visits

Requests for home visits will be taken by phone. Please call in the morning if possible to allow enough notice, and so that the doctors can plan their rounds. The doctor will call you back to discuss your problem and decide on the best course of action.

Please only ask for a visit if you genuinely are unable to get to the surgery.
