111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It’s fast, easy and free. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

Mental Health Crisis – The First Response Service (FRS) in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, gives those in Mental Health crisis the opportunity to get access to help quickly, by calling NHS 111 and selecting the mental health option. As with NHS 111, the service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

RSV Vaccine

There is a new vaccination available for Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). Everyone turning 75 years old on or after the 1 September 2024 will be offered a single dose of RSV vaccine. This is because older adults are more at risk of serious complications from RSV. There will also be a catch-up programme for those aged 75-80 from 1 September 2024. Patient’s who are aged 78 and 79 years will be prioritised. RSV is a respiratory illness similar to flu. We will be contacting eligible patients to invite them for the vaccine from September 2024 and throughout the coming months .
