Appointments Information

Our Appointments

To see a GP you must have an appointment. These can be booked up to 6 weeks in advance. Appointments are booked at 10 minute intervals. We try to run on time as far as possible, but inevitably some appointments do run over.

The majority of our appointments are carried out face to face, which has proved a satisfactory method for most of our patients. Although their are other appointment types available.

Please visit our Who Do I See? section which has advice on the best Healthcare Professional for you to see.

To request a non-urgent / routine appointment

In line with Government Guidelines there are numerous ways to make an appointment with us as you can see below.

To help keep surgeries running smoothly:

  • Please arrive on time (if you are more than ten minutes late the doctor may not see you)
  • Please let us know if you cannot keep your appointment
  • Please do not “squeeze in” other people in your slot
  • Please remember that the length of appointments are limited and that other people are waiting too!

Cancelling an Appointment

If for any reason you are unable to attend it is important that you inform the reception staff. You can do this by simply by replying to your appointment text message with the word ‘Cancel’, by telephoning the surgery or by using online means to cancel.

If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters may be removed from our patient list.

Patient Notice

We can not carry out consultations if you are not in this country. Our doctors are not licensed to practice medicine outside the UK.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.

If you haven’t already, you can Sign Up for SMS Reminders below.

Advanced Nurse Practitioners

We are pleased to announce that have 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP) to compliment our service – Tina McPherson and Claire Jones.

ANPs are trained nurses with advanced skills and expertise. They have undergone significant additional training and are able to provide assessment, examination and diagnosis of most conditions and can prescribe medication. They can refer to specialists at the hospital or send you for tests, X-rays or scans if they feel these are appropriate.

Most patients on the ‘sit and wait’ service will be seen by an ANP. You may also find that you are offered a routine appointment with an ANP in the first instance rather than a doctor.
