We are a Neuroaffirmative Surgery.
Find out how we aim to support you or your child in your interactions with the surgery.
· 1% of the population are autistic. This can pose a challenge accessing healthcare due to medical staff’s general lack of confidence and knowledge in treating patients who are autistic.
· Doctor visits can pose particular challenges for individuals with ASD, as sensory sensitivities and communication differences can heighten their stress levels in these settings.
· Many staff feel unsure about how to provide the right support for people with autism. This uncertainty comes from different reasons such as not having enough training and not knowing much about autism or the wide variety of ways that autism can manifest.
· Staff have undergone training co-produced and delivered by parents with neurodiverse children- ‘The Changemaker Project’

Bromley by Bow Health consists of around 200 people. It’s a team of varied health professionals including: GPs, nurses, advanced nurse practitioners, Health Care Assistants, pharmacists and administrative support. All staff are committed to providing excellent primary care in an area with significant social and economic challenges. Our healthcare service is provided to over 50,000 patients, operating from 4 surgeries across Tower Hamlets.
