NHS App
The NHS App is owned and run by the NHS. It can be accessed by anyone aged 13 and over registered with an NHS GP surgery in England or Isle of Man.
Once you have verified your identity in the app, you will have easy, 24/7 access to a growing range of health services and information.
If you do not have access to a smartphone, you can access the NHS App via a web browser on your computer or tablet by visiting NHS app online or click on the login button located on the right hand side of this page.
If you’re a patient at our practice you can use the new NHS App, a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.
What does the NHS App do?
Your Health
- View your GP health record – view your medical history, test results, vaccinations, allergies, and medications – How to see your GP health record on the NHS App.
- Register your organ donation decision – choose to donate some or all of your organs and check your registered decision.
Prescriptions
- Order repeat prescriptions – request repeat prescriptions without having to contact your GP surgery – How to order your repeat prescription on the NHS App.
- Nominate a pharmacy – choose a pharmacy where your prescriptions will be sent to.
Appointments
- Submit non-urgent medical queries to your GP – ask for advice, help with administrative tasks, or follow up on test results directly through the NHS app. Your GP will review and respond to your submission. – How to contact your GP surgery about a health problem on the NHS App.
- Manage appointments with your GP Surgery – search for, book and cancel appointments at your GP surgery, and see details of your upcoming and past appointments.

Send and Receive Messages

(The messaging services available in your NHS App ONLY allow patients to receive secure messages from their GP surgery if patients have their notifications turned on.)
Help Someone Else
Linked profiles – access the health records, appointments and prescriptions of people you care for (including children) – or get help from someone you trust – How to switch profiles on the NHS App.

Once you have downloaded the App, you will need to set up a login to prove your identity. The app will then securely connect you to the information from your surgery.
Your Data and Permissions
The NHS App does not store any patient data. It lets you view your health information held by your GP and other healthcare professionals. To access the NHS App, you will need to set up an NHS login and prove who you are. Your NHS App then securely connects to information from your GP surgery.
If your device supports fingerprint detection or facial recognition, you can use it to log in to your NHS App each time, instead of using a password and security code.

You can still contact the practice by phone or in person, this is just another option, which other patients have found is more convenient and saves them time.

Patient Access
Online services allow you to:
- book, check or cancel appointments with a GP, nurse or other healthcare professional
- order repeat prescriptions
- see parts of your health record, including information about medicines, vaccinations and test results
- see communications between your GP Medical Centre and other services, such as hospitals
How to register for Online Services
If you have not used our online services before you will need to:
- Come to the Surgery and provide photo ID so we can confirm your identity and the receptionist will then issue you with a username and password.
- Enter Patient Access and enter your registration details exactly as shown on the form.
- After registering, log on with your username and password.
