Alert: Practice Update: Appointment Availability

Over the past 7 days, our practice has experienced unprecedented demand for appointments due to increased winter pressures, alongside staff sickness affecting our capacity. We understand how frustrating this can be and want to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to support our patients.

As we approach the Christmas period, we are working hard to increase appointment availability and ensure you receive the care you need.

To help us manage demand, please consider using alternative NHS services when appropriate, including:

- Pharmacy First: Your local pharmacist can provide advice and treatment for a range of common conditions without the need for a GP appointment.
- NHS 111: Available online or by phone for urgent medical advice.
- Self-Care Resources: Trusted NHS guidance is available at www.nhs.uk

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging period. Thank you for continuing to work with us to keep our community healthy.

CQC Rates Modality Mid Sussex ‘Good’ Overall

We are proud to share that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated Modality Mid Sussex ‘Good’ overall, recognising the huge progress we have made since being placed in Special Measures in 2023.

This achievement reflects the hard work, commitment, and dedication of our whole team over the past two years. Together, we have delivered real improvements in care and access – recruiting more staff, offering more appointments than ever before, cutting call waiting times, and opening our new digital front door to make it easier for patients to get the help they need.

We have also introduced new services such as weekend clinics, group consultations, health coaching, and expanded vaccination programmes, while strengthening our focus on patient safety, staff wellbeing and inclusive, compassionate care.

We want to thank our Patient Participation Group and wider community for their invaluable support and feedback throughout this journey. Your input has helped shape the positive changes we’ve made, and we are committed to continuing to listen and improve.

This Good rating is an important milestone – but it is not the end of the journey. We remain focused on building on this success and delivering the very best care for our patients.

The CQC report is available for you to read here: https://www.cqc.org.uk/location/1-7337522257.

Thank you to our patients and staff for your continued support as we work together to provide safe, high-quality care.
