Reception:
Our team of fully trained receptionists are there to help you make appointments to see the doctors and nurses or to advise on administrative and registration problems. They have a difficult job to do with telephone calls and enquiries coming from every direction. When you telephone for medical attention, the receptionist may need to ask one or two questions in order to prioritise your request and direct you to the appropriate person – GP, Nurse, Health Visitor, etc. They have been asked to do this, but the information you give them will be treated in confidence as they are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as doctors and nurses. If they cannot answer a query, they will undertake to find someone else who can.
Healthcare Team
Community Nurses
The community nursing team provides a wide range of nursing care and support to patients at home who are physically unable to attend the surgery and / or have a serious illness or disability. Main areas of care include wound care, hospital discharge assessments, palliative and bereavement care, cancer care and support and continence care and advice.
The community nursing team has an open referral system. Appropriateness of referrals would be assessed via telephone prior to a home visit. The team can be contacted Monday to Friday 08.30 – 5pm on 01202 738812. Please note there is no answer machine. Messages can be left via the reception staff on the main surgery number.
