Friends of Savernake Hospital donate baby monitors to KAMP

The Friends of Savernake Hospital have very kindly donated funds for the Kennet and Avon Medical Partnership to purchase 2 health assessment monitors designed for unwell babies.

These monitors can enable the Medically Urgent Team at KAMP to quickly assess the health of tiny infants using special probes. The monitors can measure blood pressure, pulse rate, blood oxygen and temperature to determine which little babies need urgent care.

The importance of these monitors was explained by KAMP paramedic Tim “in the past we have had to refer newborn babies and small infants to hospital for checks as we have not had the monitors to take the very tiny probes required to fit on their little fingers/limbs. These new monitors allow us to assess unwell babies on the spot do we can treat them without delay”.

KAMP have also been able to purchase sustainable/reusable probes as opposed to having to buy disposable connectors.
