Urgent Appointments
Call 999 in the event of a medical emergency, when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
KAMP operates a medically urgent list Monday – Friday for patients with clinically urgent issues who can receive same day treatment if there is room on the list.
To request an urgent surgery appointment for the same day or next working day (Monday to Friday)
Phone the surgery on 01672 569990 between 08:30 -15:30.
Please note however that once the medically urgent list is full it is closed for new admissions.
The Patient Navigator will ask questions in order to best address your needs. This information will enable us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you. You will then receive a return call before 18:30 to discuss your issue and to determine the most appropriate course of action.
Please note that we do not treat minor injuries such as cuts, suspected fractures/sprains or burns and scalds. Please visit you nearest Urgent Treatment Centre/Minor Injuries Unit. Some local options are Chippenham MIU or GWH UTC

Home Visits
Home visits are available to those whose medical condition makes it impossible for them to visit the surgery for treatment. Our Patient Navigation Team can provide advice to those who can visit the surgery but do not have any transport. Not having transport or someone to bring you in to the surgery is not a reason for a doctor to make a home visit.
If you feel you need a home visit, or you are a relative or carer calling on behalf of a housebound patient, please call the surgery as early as possible in the day and before 13:30. Please provide as much detail as possible to the Patient Navigator, together with a phone number on which you can be contacted. A clinician will telephone you to discuss your visit request.
Please note that many patients can be seen at the Surgery in the time that it takes to make one home visit.
When the Surgery Is Closed
Call 999 in the event of a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
If you need medical help, why not try NHS 111 online or dial 111.
NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over.
Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
Reasonable Adjustments
Please tell us if you would like us to make reasonable adjustments during your appointment or visit to the practice:
- if you have any access or communication needs
- if you require longer appointments
- if you would prefer to consult with the healthcare professional by phone or face to face.
- if you need an interpreter
- if you require chaperone or someone else to accompany you
- KAMP will keep a record of your needs and ask if you agree to let us share those needs with other people outside of KAMP who are involved in your care.
