About Us

The Practice at Danes Camp Surgery was started in 1992 and today serves East Hunsbury, West Hunsbury, Collingtree Park, Collingtree Village, Delapre, Hardingstone,  and the Sixfields Area  The contract to provide general medical services for the 8500 patients at Danes Camp Medical Centre is held between Dr Azhar Zafar, Dr Kashif Zaman, Dr Asim Chishti and Dr Ayesha Azhar (full time GPs) and Nene Clinical Commissioning Group.

Our Mission

Danes Camp Medical Centre deliver high-quality, compassionate, and research-driven healthcare to East Hunsbury and neighbouring communities.
Under the leadership of Professor Azhar Zafar, we combine clinical excellence with education and innovation as a spoke site of the Clinical Research Delivery Centre (CRDC) at University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL).

Our leadership team includes Dr Zaman (Education Lead), Dr Ayesha Azhar (Women’s Health & Menopause Clinic Lead), Dr Butt (Asthma & COPD Lead), Dr Muhammad Chishti (PCN Lead), Ms Nula Smart (Academic Manager), Ms Carina Scarlata (Research Manager), and  Ms Sally-Anne Pike (Executive Manager).

We work in partnership with Parks Practice, under Dr Naeem Younus, which includes Blisworth, Roade, Grange Park, and Hanslope Surgeries, supported by our associate GP partners Dr Rohit Pala, Dr Usra Nazir, and Dr Maryam Hussain.

Our services include Diabetes Clinics, CKD Clinics, Menopause & HRT Clinics, Respiratory Care, and a wide range of chronic-disease and wellbeing programmes.

Practice Premises

Car park with 4 disabled parking spaces close to the entrance door. We do ask that if possible patients walk to the surgery. If driving please only use the surgery car park when attending the surgery.

On the ground floor – there are 13 consulting rooms, 2 treatment rooms, Minor Surgery Theatre, Midwife and HCA rooms, waiting rooms, reception area and patient toilets, one with disabled facilities.

On the first floor – Practice Manager’s office, other administrative offices and staff rooms, and Training suites

Access

Our surgery is easily accessible for wheelchairs to all downstairs rooms and toilet facilities. Should patients who have access problems wish to see administrative staff this can also be organised on the ground floor.

We can arrange interpretation and translation services in person or by phone for patients who do not speak English. Please let us know if you need this service when booking an appointment and where possible try to allow 7 days in advance. Please also let us know if you will not be attending for the booked appointment in order that we can cancel the interpreter
