Alert:

Dear Patients

It has been brought to our attention that patients of a practice are being called by an anonymous caller saying that the patient needs to update their contact details. Patients are being told that if they don't update them, they will be struck off the GP list. The calls have been from mobile numbers (example: 07785061402) and if your patients have experienced this activity, they need to be assured that the call is not from the Surgery and patients wouldn't be contacted this way.

Whilst this is not a fraud against the NHS, it could put patients at risk of fraud if they disclose their personal data over the telephone.

For any advice please contact the ICB counter fraud providers (360 Assurance) at pwestwood@nhs.net or 360assurance.counterfraud@nhs.net
