We are a Dispensing Practice, and dispense more than 11,000 items per month.
The dispensing fees help cross-fund our clinical service. As a result we really hope you continue to support the practice by getting your medications from us, rather than the pharmacies in town or online.
If you are a new patient please make an appointment to see a doctor before requesting repeat medication.
Non-urgent advice: Notice
Repeat routine medication can be collected 7 days after your request has been received.
Please let us know if it is more urgent at the time of requesting. If you are asking for medication that you have not had for >365 days, you cannot request this without stating a reason, and you may need to speak to a GP first.
TEXT MESSAGE REMINDERS FOR COLLECTION – we now operate a text message reminder system. If we have your number on file will send you a message when your medication has been dispensed and is ready to collect.
Herefordshire Prescribing Committee recommends that 28 days should be the usual treatment length for routine repeat prescriptions and we comply with these recommendations at The Surgery Kingstone. Where certain medications are only available in larger packs, exceptions to this rule apply, such as some hormone replacement therapies and oral contraceptive pills.
Different Ways you can Order Your Repeat Prescription
- Use the NHS app to order your prescriptions.
- Use the right hand side of the computer slip from your prescription when you collect your repeat medication. Tick what items you require and place in the white box on reception desk. It will be dispensed ready for you 28 days from this date.
- Use Patient Access to order repeat prescriptions online. See the Patient Access page for details on how to register for this service.
You can order repeat prescriptions by telephoning the Dispensary on 01981 250215 between 10 am and 4pm. However, with the high volume of calls we receive, you may find that the dispensary number is often engaged. Therefore, it is advisable to order your medication by one of the alternative methods as suggested above. If you choose to order your repeat medication by telephone, please have all the necessary information to hand, to ensure that you order the correct items.
If you need glasses for reading don’t forget to bring them with you when you order your prescription! This makes things so much easier when you have to decide which medication you need!
