Online Access Information
Please see this page for further information if you previously had online access via the NHS App or Patient Services with Drayton Medical Practice
Registration for Online Access
Below we have information on the following:
- Information about the NHS APP
- Information about Patient Access
- Instructions on how to register for online access
- ** Coming Soon ** Instructions on how to register for PROXY access (for carers, relatives to have online access on behalf of a patient in the practice)
There are a number of apps that provide access to your medical records, details of medication, allergies, and other useful information. You can manage appointments online and order repeat prescriptions.
NHS APP
We recommend using the official NHS app. It provides the quickest registration process and is a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services using your smartphone, tablet, or computer. The app can be downloaded on Android and iOS smartphones and can also be accessed on a computer. To register or log in on your computer, please follow this link: https://www.nhsapp.service.nhs.uk/login
The NHS App enables people to:
- get health advice using the health A-Z on the NHS website
- book Covid vaccines
- find out what to do when they need help urgently using NHS 111 online
- register as an organ donor
- choose whether the NHS uses their data for research and planning
- and much more
Patients can register and prove who they are so they can:
- order their repeat prescriptions and view, set or change their nominated pharmacy, where they want their prescriptions to be sent
- view their GP health record securely
- manage their first hospital or clinic appointment with a specialist, when they are referred by their GP, through the NHS e-Referral Service (e-RS)

Patient Access
Patient Access is a website that connects to our computer system, giving you access to the mostly same services as the NHS App. You can visit the website, or download a free Android or iOS app for your mobile. It’s easy to use, and the site is encrypted so it is secure. This replaces the previously used Patient Services website.
Whether you had a Patient Services account prior to our system change or are newly registering, please visit the Patient Access account creation page to get started: https://account.patientaccess.com/registration
If you have an NHS login, you can link this to the Patient Access account. This will save you some time and effort. Or you can create an account from scratch.
Please note that Patient Access will require a third party authenticator app to get full access. Two form factor identification offers an extra level of security, similar to online banking, and is becoming more common on many websites. We appreciate some patients may not want or be able to use this method of access. This is not within our control and is one of the reasons we recommend using the NHS App or at least creating an NHS login.
