The Thornton Practice will be open as normal over Christmas except for:
Christmas Day – CLOSED
Boxing Day – CLOSED
New Years Day – CLOSED
As of 1st January 2026 we will no longer have a prescription line so to avoid delay when ordering your prescriptions, you can order via email, NHS APP or you can leave your repeat request at our reception desk. Thank you for your understanding.
Welcome to The Thornton Practice
The Thornton Practice is a surgery situated in the localities of Thornton-Cleveleys. We provide a wide range of general medical care for local people. Our practice has a long history of treating the families of Thornton-Cleveleys and the surrounding areas, providing high quality, patient-centred care. We provide an accessible and friendly service to all of our patients. We are enthusiastic about medical education and are proud to be a teaching practice for GP trainees, helping to ensuring the provision of future generations of GPs.
Our clinical team consists of GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Pharmacists, Practice Nurses, and Health Care Assistants. We also receive clinical assistance and support from the District Nursing Team, Health Visiting Team, Midwifery Team and the Treatment Room.
