The Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of patients registered with the surgery who have no medical training but have an interest in the services provided. The aim of the PPG is to represent patients’ views and cross barriers, embracing diversity and to work in partnership with the surgery to improve common understanding.
The first meeting of the PPG was held on Monday 19th January at Weobley Surgery and was extremely well attended by an invited cross-section of patients from both Weobley and Staunton on Wye areas and by Diane Jones, Lay representative from the Clinical Commissioning Group with a specialist interest in the patient voice.
Meetings will be held quarterly, alternating between Weobley and Staunton on Wye practices.
Non-urgent advice: The key roles of the group are to bring together patients, doctors, practice staff and local commissioners to:
– Promote the well-being of patients and support the practice to provide a high quality of care and service delivery
– Provide a locality support process for commissioners so that local needs can be identified
– The PPG will enable the Practice to communicate and build positive relationships with its patient population

If you would like to take a less involved role, and if you are happy for us to contact you occasionally by email, please complete the Patient Reference Group Sign Up Form.
We will ask the members of this representative group some questions from time to time, such as what you think about our opening times or the quality of the care or service you received. We will contact you via email and keep our surveys succinct so it shouldn’t take too much of your time. Your responses will help us improve our service to you.
We aim to gather around a hundred patients from as broad a spectrum as possible to get a truly representative sample. We need young people, workers, retirees, people with long term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups.
